Getting ready for a new world..
There is a new legislation in Australia that on the day that the Federal Election is called you only have until 6pm that evening to make sure you are correctly enrolled to vote. You used to have a week. A lot of people will be caught unaware - especially young people. Which is exactly what Howard is banking on.
For some reason the current Enrolment Forms are changing today - the old ones will no longer be valid and new ones are issued on Monday. Is this a sign things are happening soon??
Whatever it is it's time to get organised and get correctly enrolled - avoid fines but most importantly make the change this country needs before workers really lose all their rights.

I have to disagree. There is no point to having more rights if you don't have a job. Labor sends the country broke every time they are in. We are always worse off under Labor and after a couple of years people work that out and vote the Libs back in. It then takes them years to tidy up the mess that Labor leaves. JMO :)
And people should enrol to vote when they turn 18 not just when an election is called anyway.
dear anonymous - every worker deserves to have their rights maintained.. Liberal are riding an economic wave brought on by the boom in our resources - mining, technology etc.. giving us the gst and stripping the workers of penalty rates has in no way done this country any favours..
and yes people should enrol to vote when they turn 18 - but remember you have to continually update your enrolement when you move etc.. you don't just enrole once in your life. my point was about keeping your enrolement up to date - especially when the sneaky little runt john howard changes senate laws to suit himself..
