New Directions
Well my dear friends - I'm going to depart the fitness and weightloss blogging world for a new one and would love you all to come over and stick around. Seems our blog on our recent cruise on Radiance of the Seas got some really lovely attention... and to cut a long story short we are going on another cruise early next year and intend to bring you more news from the high seas. I can't say much except - watch that space. The Radiance cruise blog will morph into an overall travel blog with lots of cool features and hopefully some travel inspiring posts. My partner in crime is my new blogging partner - we have plans - big plans!
Meanwhile my other update is that I'm in Sydney at least til the end of the year on a movie and maybe back in January to finish it off. It's been a busy / fun year and I'm still trying as best I can to keep some sort of fitness happening. Loving daylight saving for that reason! Who wouldn't want to walk for hours along the beaches with 2 hours of sunshine left after work!

So while I've been away

Someone I'm very close to has just published his book on smashwords. It's damn funny and there may be a screenplay in the works - meanwhile - give it a go for US$3.99 (that's AUD$3.75!) for your iPad, Kindle, everyday computer even iPhone. There may be a few sweary words in it... well that's how I explained it to my dad :)
This is the link: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/56552
Meanwhile - I'll be back soon!

Metabolise ME!
Seriously - I need a kick in the whatsit.
Exercising like crazy each alternate day but not getting anywhere with it.
24 days of work left until enforced holiday and no new gig on the horizon just yet. I could do with a month off but hoping that doesn't extend into many more. As well as feeding myself I need to save for a big birthday trip later this year... IF I can nail down what destination is going to host The Big One (my birthday not my size!) in September.
Random mood today...

M H D
A mental health day was in order today - I self diagnosed myself at 7am this morning - as I was beating myself up for not going to Body Pump. I did go to work, for approx 1 hour and 45 minutes. Enough time to get everything in order for my work colleagues so today wouldn't be hard on them. I work with one of my closest friends and the last thing she needs is to take on board any of my workload! So I'm hoping I cleared the decks of stuff she doesn't have to worry about.
I woke up not feeling crash hot... not entirely sure why - maybe a little exhaustion but as I don't have man flu it's time to soldier on!
I will try to do a C25k run this afternoon - toes crossed!

Plan for the Week
My accountability needs to start all over again... so here is the plan for this week - will update on Sunday with the results:
Monday - After work the plan was to run but Brisbane got hit with another crazy storm so it was - Wii EA Active 30 Day Challenge
Tuesday - Pre work - Gym, Treadmill C25k Week 2, Cross trainer - at least an hour of cardio. One Hundred Push Ups - Week 2 Day 1
Wednesday - Pre work - Body Pump
Thursday - Pre work - Swim at the Gym - in place of a rest day, just an easy swim to stretch out.One Hundred Push Ups - Week 2 Day 2
Friday - Pre work - Body Pump
Saturday - Body Pump, Swim, One Hundred Push Ups - Week 2 Day 3
Sunday - 30km ride (round trip) to the bay for some grilled fish with The Italian
A busy schedule I know - but I need to take advantage of what my week is like in terms of hours at work... last week I only managed 3 days of about 30mins each, so I need to ramp it up this week. Plus I'm feeling the energy!
I weighed 70.2 on Sunday morning, 71.2 on Monday morning. I'm aiming for below 70 by next Sunday/Monday...

We often play Tourists in our own city
So the weekend went by with as much exercise as I could fit in while really just wanting to sleep and read books... Foolishly I went for a midday ride on Saturday - in a singlet. Yikes - sunburn!
The rest of the time was spent going to a talk by Tony Mott at his exhibition which was fun... Later we wandered up the road to a long time favourite restaurant Himalyan style... Just an easy Saturday. The Italian was convinced he had never eaten here before - though unless I'm getting him mixed up with another 6 foot something dark haired man (highly likely a few years back!) then I'm the one going crazy :)
Sunday we ventured out in the ridiculous heat to GoMA - always worth it! Even if The Italian was walking one step behind me the whole time we were outside to shade my sunburn... this is on top of the 'tisk 'tisk I got every few minutes...
Tony Mott Exhibition... I find Rock Photography to be one of those 'you were in the right place at the right time' type of careers - but I wouldn't have turned it down!

Walking to the restaurant Saturday night...

Red
Number of Calories burnt this week - took Thursday and Friday off due to long long work hours... but smashed a couple of hours today.
Stunning flowers from The Italian. I never knew he knew exactly what my favourite colour is.We've had a bit of a stressful week and these are the first flowers he has bought me in 2.5 yrs we have known each other. Dinner out tonight.... but I'm 2 episodes into Dexter Season 5 and hooked already! Which is precisely the reason I was saving it for a rainy day... damn beautiful weather calling my name.

Staying Home
I've been toying so much with trying to start a new blog... I only just created a new template... I came up with a half assed title because I think the one here comes off racist and you all know it's not! I've been a bad blogger... Oh but I have been lurking and enjoying and massive apologies for not commenting but those who used to follow me and comment have all gone through an amazing 12 mths! I tip the top of my skirt :)
At this point in time --- there will not be a new blog...nah... I'm staying here. My honesty started here so why should I move it and cloak it somewhere else?
Stats are: Back on Weight Watchers... now doing Pro Points - is it better than Core (which I had amazing success on) .... Maybe. New C25k regime - adapting to still not having my own kitchen - Now that I am living with The Italian (still not sure if it is 'staying with' or 'living with' - I have a storage shed full of great stuff that would make a home look so beautiful...) WHY WHY WHY did I move to Sydney and give up my last flat??
I've lost 3.5kgs in 5 weeks on WW doing 2000/3000 plus exercise calories a week in exercise... hmm I expected more... BUT I was a lazy arse for about 4mths. When I left Sydney I started a new show and just didn't exercise - spent all my time at work or home cooking. Italian and I had great weekends of bike rides and walking but not enough for me.
I've had writers block for over a year - I need to come back - I really miss this blog/home/blog friends and a sense of purpose. xxMiss N

New Blog in the works
I think one of the major reasons I don't update anymore is that this blog is a little tired - I think it's been around for almost 3 years! I don't really feel like the same person who started this blog.. Mainly because relationships have changed and I don't necessarily feel like running an anonymous blog anymore.. so I'm going to move and start a new one! Be more open - less hiding behind 'Miss N'. So if any of you are even still here I'll send out the link once it's all set up.
Much love for the past 3 years of ramblings! xox

ups and downs and ups
I'm not sure if the outback gig will be happening.. the phone isn't ringing hot despite being asked to put in for it for a specific gig... So it could be back to the freelance hunting board in approx 7 weeks time.. and where will I live? my car? I'm still fighting with the Ex (Texan) re: car.. despite (ME) almost paying off the loan over the past 2 months.. Limbo Limbo Limbo...
Italian arrives tomorrow afternoon - I pretty much pick him up from the airport - drive home, dump car, get on bus then ferry to Manly... check into a gorgeous B&B and then hightail it down to the wharf for dinner and drinks with friends I haven't seen in a while (used to live together in San Francisco). We will then head out to see a new up and coming band (been 'unearthed' getting lots of airplay) that my friends manage. Should be a fun night - despite Italian and I just having a tense discussion over iChat about driving to Manly from the airport versus dumping car and then getting public transport.. ergg -- I hate 'discussing' things over instant messaging sometimes... meh - moving on.
SMASHED it at the gym this week so far - will get one more chance tomorrow morning to work out properly.. I've been in the studio shooting all week - we don't shoot on Fridays thankfully.. working from home - have a few errands and then airport..
Monday - 1 hr cardio: 474 calories, Tuesday - met new personal trainer: 377 calories, Wednesday: Cardio: 491 Calories, Thursday - cardio then body pump: 742 calories
On fire again!!! and I weighed in under 70 - but waiting a few days to keep checking on that... Food - awesome.. Alcohol - um yeah....

where next?
I've just thrown my hat in the ring for a gig that will see me in the outback for around 5-6mths - I think.. it's a while anyway.. I've been umming and ahhhing about it as it will mean more extended time doing the long distant relationship thing - but The Italian is keen because he wants me to be employed, save money by being rent free and getting per diems and he hasn't been to that part of the outback before.. which pretty much mirrors the pros I'm giving the idea. I haven't got the job yet - it came about after a random chat with a friend while out Roller Derby last night.. a friend working on the show mentioned she had asked another friend to do it but he turned it down.. I said I would be interested and she was surprised as she thought I had a job.. anyway - that's the life of freelancing -- let's see what happens..
I had a mostly good workout week - the rain was a bit of a killer over the weekend as well as a blasted headache/ hangover today that has seen me not leave the house.. so I've only completed 80% of my program this week.. I will need to have a great week this week..
Big week ahead! Shooting a ton of episodes on the kids show, gym and then YAY The Italian flys in..

Back on the horse
And by horse I mean the treadmill, body pump and Couch to 5k.. a little Déjà vu but a good place to be. Plus it's a new city - well not that new considering I have lived here a few times - but new in the sense of a change.
This week excellent with the working out - terrible with the wine consumption - bloody awesome with the good and healthy foods. A couple of weeks back I did a no caffeine, no bread, no dairy fortnight and noticed a few things: I can live without coffee - I didn't get any headaches from stopping the intake but I don't see living without coffee for the rest of my life a thing I will do.. it's just too delicious - so every now and then I'll enjoy a saunter to the closest Campos place for a refill. I really can live without bread - but gee it limits lunch options!! and I have a wee addiction to Burgen Soy-Lin.. I just hardly eat bread these days - never white bread and certainly feel less heavy because of it. No dairy... hmm realised I wasn't huge on the dairy anyway (except see coffee sentence). No cheese for awhile feels like punishment for stacking back on the pounds - and so it should - I did.
I've been working from home this week - so when not procrastinating with Ellen and laughing at Days of Our Lives - I've been able to turn little moments into 'Exercise Moments'. For example - a trip to the store is done by taking the longest route with the most hills (thanks Coogee). When I need a break from the computer I stand up and do a session of squats, lunges or pushups - considering I'm already dagging out in trackies or workout gear I'm dressed for 'Drop and do 10!' anytime during the day (when my roomie isn't here).
I'm having a wee dilemma (in my head) about the person who was showing interest and my text to him to say - 'We need to stay away from each other'... I actually kind of miss him - mainly his texts.. we had a very quick banter by text on the w/end but the tone has seriously changed. I need to walk away now and chances are will run into him on a show somewhere down the road - though we have gone a couple of years in between working on the same gigs. I think I just like to be 'liked' and him now not responding to me in the overly positive way he used to has got under my skin. It takes everything I have NOT to text. Sometimes I hate the new technology we have! any advice is most welcome - keeping in mind he is in a 'serious' relationship of 10 years with someone he says he loves yet has been known to write the most inappropriate texts to me..
8 days until I collect The Italian from the airport for a weekend - yay!
Ok - off to the gym for a treadmill session and then Body Pump - nursing ouchy DOMS from the last session but I'll push through..

Oh hello blog - you still here?
Bloody hell! You know when I get caught up in something I get really caught up.. SO. Here I am in Ole Sydney Town again - working.. well I'm just back from a weekend in Bris with The Italian - left his squishy comfy bed this morning and will have to wait another.. hmmm let me count.. another 10 days until he comes down for a weekend of beach walking and hanging out at the Randwick Races..
I can't believe where all the time has gone since I've been here! But I can report that I am being mostly good with fitness.. I did join the rather large fitness chain in Oz - and not so pleased with them as expected. That has actually helped me pursue outdoor activities again ie: running and loads and loads of walking the Eastern Beaches tracks.. I've only just started to notice it all making a difference which always has the effect of motivating me more. Last week I smashed 3000 calories with 2 1/2 hr runs, walking Coogee to Bondi and back, a 30km ride, walking over and back the new Gateway bridge in Brisbane along with strength training and generally living at the top of a huge hill! Getting 'home' from runs keeps my heartbeat up!
I've been hanging out with some good gal pals down here and grateful for the good times. It's actually nice to be relationship free every second weekend so I can gather some good quality friend time. Not that The Italian and I don't hang out with our friends when we are together - we are generally pretty social - but having good quality girlfriends to reconnect with has been rewarding. Plus I think it gives my relationship a little extra something - in the sense that I have new experiences to talk about on Skype (when I'm not flashing him my boobs - yeah I'm all classy and stuff :)
I could possibly have only 6-8 weeks left in Sydney and then have to decide where I want to live in Bris.. or I can continue to look for more work down here.. which is actually looking like the better option.. considering work is very much needed! My relationship is coping with this long distant thing very well.. As for the other person that was showing 'interest' - I have to say I wanted to hang out with him, for a drink or movie etc.. but it was never going to be innocent (and he is in a 10 yr long relationship!) so I sent a text saying as much.. he didn't respond very well and in the end showed the true colours of someone wanting a little 'bit on the side'.... le sigh. le men. le double sigh.
I'm working from home this week - apart from a face to face meeting at the office tomorrow to discuss next weeks shooting. Hopefully I'll take advantage of the extra time to smash out a few decent workouts - well a lot of decent workouts! I'm looking forward to weighing in tomorrow..
Does anyone else spend ages cooking a scrumptious and healthy meal only to actually not eat it once it's done? I've craved roast veges all day - and that's all I'm having tonight with cottage cheese.. except I went from starving to ...meh

and 3 months in - where the bloody hell have I been!?
Well.. I had all good intentions of writing writing writing.. as much as I intended to run 3 nights a week and continue kicking anyone's butt in a push up challenge!....
What happened? Well a bloody exhausting film! seriously 14 plus hour days and then weeks and weeks of full night shoots.. plus a LOT of laziness during my down time.. very very little running and the occasional cycle with The Italian.. the last month or so it's been near impossible to drag myself out of bed before 11 on the weekends and trust me I haven't been like that since my uni days!
End result.. well fitness wise I am holding on by a tentative string.. I can do 5-10 toe push ups in a row.. I can run the occasional 3km but I am weighing in at 70 kilos and not fitting any of my clothes!
The Italian has started to mention it more.. but he's in the same boat and it's not like we eat crazy bad food - hardly. We just very rarely exercise. The repercussions are way too obvious and I had the shock of my life this morning when I braved the scales.. even knowing if the clothes don't fit then the scales aren't going to lie!!
I've yo yo'd before - on this very blog.. but I've never been close to the weight I was when I moved to blogspot land.
What's going to happen now? Well I'm 2 days away from finishing the job I'm on and have actually started on another job - working mostly by email during the day while wrapping up ends on job #1.. more challenging than I thought - but it makes the day fly!! The new job is in Sydney.. I'm still in Brisbane.. I'm moving down periodically from this Sunday and will be back and forth throughout April as I pack up the Single Gal's Pad and move to a friends place in Coogee and sublet.. then there until July and then possibly moving in with The Italian until I decide what's / where next..........................................................
There are lots of reasons for those dots....... The Italian loves me.. but can he commit? Do I want him too? Not that he looks or strays - he's a self confessed non chaser and I'm not being naive in believing that -- I know a chaser when I see one. An opportunist strayer may be in his genes.. who knows.. He would be happy in an Antarctic hut with his laptop if he had half the chance.... and Just recently someone else has been paying a LOT of attention to me and it has been distracting and eye opening.. is this a pattern?. Do I just crave the excitement or has the right person not crossed the doorstep.. I can't ask The Italian for commitment - it will be what it will be if it's what it will be for the right reasons (that sentence explains why I don't work for Hallmark!) Right now - we are good.. very good.. we are happy and really love our weekends together.. going away to Sydney will be interesting - but we already have weekend flights booked and he's going to drive down with me and stay for the first 2- 3 weeks..
2010 -- I just don't know what your plans are..
Good news though.. I ran tonight for 30 mins - did the Couch to 5Km Week 1 and did it well despite being worried.. ran extra at the end and reminded myself that the very first time I started this program I could never run the Week 1 session outdoors in it's entirety.. so once you become fit - even with a stupid amount of time off you can get right back into it. -349 Calories.. but most of all just running.. I know running has results.. body and mind! body and mind!!

End of Decadeathon!
In 1999 on this day I was cruising up the coast to spend the millennium on an easterly point of the sunshine coast.. camping out, chasing a man who would never love me like I deserved and would affect most of the early 2000's.. I was settling into my chosen career but didn't predict I would end up for a short stint in San Francisco not long after.. I had only just returned from 2 years in Edinburgh, Scotland. I didn't believe in Y2K and barely gave it a thought.. I also didn't exercise or give much thought to my weight as I was still in my 20's dancing at least 2-3 nights a week.. I was a little lost (due to the man issue) but had high hopes for not just life but the next decade at least. I wasn't to be disappointed.
Dec 31, 2009.. I'll be cruising up the street to attend a house party of complete strangers.. except for The Italian, who is a man that I not only wish I met a decade ago but just love more and more each day as we continue to have fun. It's been an interesting decade - I'm looking forward to the next!
In short I think it went a little bit like this and I know I'm leaving a lot out!:
2000 -- danced a lot, drank a lot, made new friends that are still important to me, worked hard, continued my 'relationship/ affair' with S, probably sampled a few too many illegal whatits.. Got a phone call to ask me to move to San Francisco..
2001 -- 5 mths in San Francisco, ended in tears and almost destroyed my longest best friendship. Went to Mexico to try to cheer myself up.. Returned home and back into the toxic 'relationship/affair' with S.. actually had numerous toxic relationships that year.. Luckily got work not too long after returning home and luckily had some great friends around me to keep me sane.. Worked on a fabulous little movie as the assistant to an Oscar winning actor..
2002 -- moved to the Gold Coast, what the hell was I thinking!? worked on a huge Hollywood movie that unfortunately is very underrated but was the experience of a lifetime. Met an amazing group of people that would become dear dear friends across the globe and home. Dated MA for 10mths.. thought it was a winner -- until he cheated.. I'm sure I ended up back in toxic S land for a while..
2003 -- moved back to Brisbane and worked solidly on a long running mini series, continued to dance a few nights away, continued some disastrous 'love affairs', just lived and wondered where life would take me..
2004 -- moved to Sydney to work on another Hollywood failure.. early part of the year saw me pregnant to S.. and that wasn't to be.. recovered from that and went on to have one of the hardest work years of my life but one the most fun years as I finally discarded S, had the best housemate in the world and enjoyed living it up in Old Sydney Town as a newly refreshed Single Gal.. This will be the year best known for best friends and moving on.
2005 -- moved back to Brisvegas.. Just realised I will have to IMDB myself to remember what brought me home.. oh yeah.. Met The Texan, went to a lot of parties, didn't work very much.. went to the Outback.. it was a meh kind of year..
2006 -- finally started to get more work again - but not as much as I would have liked.. I'm not exactly sure what I did during this year.. a couple of interesting films, a nowhere relationship, ended up in Nth Qld for 3 glorious months of fun and work..
2007 -- returned from the north and started working in reality tv, also started working on getting fit and this blog.. would go to Russia, Scandinavia, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal and London.. before returning to Sydney to start another year in reality TV..
2008 -- Busy year of work as I bounced from one TV job to the next.. continued in bloggy fitness world and developed fab bloggy friends.. I left The Texan.. I met The Italian.. I wasn't sure what was going to happen.. nothing was planned..
2009 -- I started the year working. Living in my new Single Gal Pad.. I went on a beach holiday with The Italian that seemed to change things a little.. in a good way. I turned down work on a mega movie.. actually I turned down 3 jobs.. All so I could go to the US with The Italian. Best. Holiday. Ever.. Came home, didn't work for 2 mths and then landed a job on a very interesting, going to be talked about a lot film. Still going strong with The Italian.. beginning to wonder if it will get serious serious as I adore him and think he's feeling it too.. Started having grown up thoughts of property ownership etc.. reconnected with my dad..
2010 - Bring it on! My focus for the decade is finances as well as the usual love and fun. Plus a lot more travel and of course fitness. I see a mini marathon in my sights by the end of 2010 and spending more fabulous times with my brilliant mates and current love.
Happy New Year to all of you - here's hoping you get exactly what you want for the next decade! xoxo
